Changes to Sweet Mom Blog

My life has changed so much in the past couple of years since my marriage to my wonderful husband Clay. Going from working full time in sales/recruiting, etc.. in the fast lane to being a backyard farmer and PR girl has been a wild ride to say the least! We are grouping our online activities as we are going in the direction we feel the Lord is leading us. I am changing this blog to Canning with Pople Backyard Farm to share all the canning activities that can help families. Sink Magic Review

This is a wonderful gadget that is a must for every household! Thank you to Sink Magic for sending me this gadget. I am always honest in my reviews and this is one that I am thrilled to do as this is one of my favorites! It literally frees up a sink for me and makes supper clean up super easy. Here is what this gadget does you put it in your drain and run your dish water and it prevents the sink from overflowing as you can keep running water and the water goes right through the drain holes on top down the drain. It seems much cleaner to keep running the water to me and to not keep dumping pans of water, my soap lasts longer and if I do a few dishes it is fast or if I load the dishwasher it makes rinsing the dishes fast as I can let them soak and rinse and it is like 1/2 the time. I personally feel that if you try this one is a gadget that makes you feel desprate if it would ever be damaged like your toilet or dishwasher or TV once you have one of these for a week you won't ever won't to be without it again as it makes life so much easier. This trully is magic I love it.

Greenhouses and rabbits

Did you ever have one of those delightful days where you spent the entire day outside working and just felt so refreshed. You breathe in the fresh air and all the thoughts of your day to life somehow just seem to disappear and you get lost in all the newness of Spring? 

You start out the day feeling so good that the weather has finally broke from the long harsh winters and you are pretty sure the last frost has slipped away and now you are ready to embrace the sun. 

You pick up your shovel , garbage can and start to clean the outside just like you would the inside of your home.

I started out taking the rabbits out of the barn and put them in the neat little temporary rabbit tractor so the bunnies could nibble on fresh grass. Took all the potted plants that were in the house, as we were so excited about the garden we just planted our little hearts out knowing Spring was almost here. Raspberries, tomatos, blue berries. I neatly lined these on the front porch. 

My husband picked up the cattle fence and stretched it down to the woodened frame he built and started to work on our green house. I held the nails and screws and handed these to him. We listened to garden you tubes all day on the back porch as we were working from fellow youtubers and enjoyed this along with times of silence. 

Exhausted we came in cleaned up and now relaxing. Spring has opened her arms to us and we are so blessed to have such a gorgeous days as these.

now for some fun.. Hazel.. I am doing one of my vintage reviews again and this time it is on a old time favorite HAZEL. You can watch episodes of Hazel right on you tube. She's quirky, fun and drives Mr. B CRAZY! She's known to date more than a few sailors , and feeds everyone that comes in her kitchen, some funny episodes I loved where she had a TV with all the lines .. you 'll remember if you are over 50 like me.. those TV in Black and white and a Big deal was made over getting a colored set. And the episode where Hazel was going to work all nite for $5 and she said "Oh that's too much" these will crack you up !  Watch a few with your kids and have some good old fashioned fun!

It's amazing where you can make a root cellar... but over the summer you may want to put up some hooks in the garage for this purpose. I live in New york.. we hung potatoes, bananas, oranges, turnips, onions, they kept all winter and didn't freeze...

We are building a Greenhouse

   We decided to build a greenhouse this year to save big on the grocery bill... I will put up some pictures for you all when it is done.. and hopefully some great videos while we are building it.

   An old friend to my family and we want to thank them for sending us some coupons to do a review for them... great products. We only buy MISSION tortillas as they have been a favorite for my family since the first time we ever did a review on them so they are a "STAPLE in our HOME. The thing I love about Mission is that they are consistently good and make a great product. We love Mexican food so we eat a lot of Tortillas and I love the quality as I worked in a Mexican restaurant in high school even though I am all german we love foods from every nationality and love it when it comes to Mission they just do it right.

I had mixed feelings about Detour bars.. If you love strawberry they are a good one... but the flavor was so strong that the first time we ate them they were cold as they were sitting on my porch and the flavor was just overwhelming... as they warmed up they tasted OKAY. Too big of a flavor for this girl, but if you love that you will like these. 4 people tested these and they all had the same reaction, they liked them but the flavor was too strong for their taste... but hey everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I'm Fabulous - Tabanero HOT SAUCE

I wanted to share with you all a great product that was sent to my family to review-- Tabanero Hot Sauce. What we loved about this was that it had a really nice flavor for a Hot Sauce. We watched other reviews online about it, as I don't like to purchase anything new anymore without hearing from the EVERYDAY people about what they really think. I found that the opinion was ... THIS IS MY new favorite as that is how we felt about it too. It is awesome!

We tried them and the flavor was so strong I thought oh no how can I review this? But here is the funny thing a few days later I grabbed another bar and my husband noticed this too. It tasted really good like ice cream I just think this is NOT a bar you will want to put in the FREEZER as right now we still have snow on the ground. The bar wasn't frozen when we ate it at first but it was cool ... and these are so delicious in normal temperature I think that you will be pleased with the results for a great snack to toss in your lunch pail etc..

We thought the Lash Control is just fun! Here we have a SQUEEZABLE Mascara...volumne, lengthening one doubles for your brows too. I have been enjoying doing brief reviews on the actors in the shows I am watching. Tom is remarried and has one of the longest marriages in Hollywood over 20 years now.

THEN.....

I have been through a lot of "stuff" in my life, I remember at times feeling sooo weak with life hitting me hard at times, but the Lord showed me a beautiful Scripture "When I am weak, THEN am I STRONG!  

I got a divorce from a man that was addicted to pornography and was a cheater,abusive, etc.. That can cause a lot of stress. But I didn't partake of the lifestyle Many people would have cheered yes she got a boyfriend, serves him right, haaa but I may sound like a prude but I was STRONG in my spirit, when I am WEAK, THEN am I strong. I didn't give in and bow to the Knee of sexual addictions that so many people have become slaves to, It can be anything, maybe you have people around you gossiping at work and You won't get involved ...and are getting picked on, etc... but if you stand with the Lord He will BLESS you for your FAITHFULNESS. You aren't weak...It is the Opposite YOU ARE STRONG! Needless to say finally that marriage ended in divorce with him running off with a girlfriend, getting taken to court by a second girlfriend for his abusive behavior, etc. I totally forgave Him and God has given me a new life with a wonderful christian husband. If you are Strong God will bless you. Don't let those weak moments distroy you. You aren't a loser, you are actually STRONG. So at those times in your life where you feel weak... look to this verse you may actually BE STRONG.  Happy Martin Luther King Day all. It is a Federal Holiday so I suspect no school and no mail. Take some time and be thankful the work that was done to help make us a great nation.

John Hagee on DayStar

 The Lord had been speaking to me about watching Daystar.com which is a FREE Christian Television network. I had some major life changes and readjusting to a move etc.. and I can see God's hand unfolding in my life. Watching Christian television is so encouraging and builds up your faith. This evening I am listening to Brother Hagee. If you have not heard Pastor John Hagee I think you will enjoy his ministry. I have watched him for years. He is the Pastor of Cornerstone ministry and also on GETV which I haven't seen yet, but will be checking it out. You can watch Daystar.com 24/7 on the internet. FREE if you have the internet. We ditched the regular TV and only pay like $30 for cable. We saw Fox news this morning on the net so why pay double... I ask myself ..isn't it just like having a SMART TV?
